The different types of whisky are malt and grain. Malt whisky is made from malted barley and grain whisky is made by using any type of grain.
Brandy is made by distilling wine or pomace or mash or any other fruit. It is made from early grapes to get a higher concentration of acid and low sugar levels.

Main process followed to produce alcoholic beverages
The main process followed for producing alcoholic beverages are:
Malting
In this process, high-quality raw material is selected and the grains are germinated. The raw material acts as a sugar base for the fermentation process.
Mashing
Raw materials like grains are milled and fruits are pressed to create a mixture. It is done with great precision and skill.
Fermenting
In this process, yeast is added to ferment the mixture under a controlled environment. The sugars break down into ethanol and carbon dioxide. Distilling
In this process, the liquid is distilled to get the alcohol by volume ratio. The pure ethanol is collected in the receiver.
Ageing
The alcohol obtained is stored in wooden barrels where it interacts with the wood to give it taste, aroma and flavour. The alcohol is aged for 1 - 2 years.
Blending
Once the alcohol is aged additional colouring and flavouring can be added to get the required output.
Bottling
This is done under scrutiny to avoid any contamination of the final product. The alcohol is packed in glass bottles as per the standards and norms of the regulatory body.
